Nemba Hills Lot 5

Nemba Hills Lot 5 is a washed Red Bourbon coffee produced by 496 smallholder farmers on Nemba Hill in Rwanda’s Gakenke District and processed at Muzo Washing Station. Muzo is the smallest station in the Baho Coffee network and sits at the center of a high-altitude coffee-growing landscape reaching up to 2,100 meters above sea level.

The Nemba Hill area is part of Baho Coffee’s hill-level separation approach, where cherries from specific surrounding hills are kept as distinct lots to highlight traceability and unique terroir expression. Farms in this area are located at very high elevations (often 1,900–2,100 meters), where cooler nights and slower cherry maturation contribute to dense, sweet, and fruit-driven coffees.

Across the wider Muzo supply chain, cherries are delivered by hundreds of smallholder farmers in the Gakenke District. This station is known for its strong focus on quality and farmer support, with careful cherry selection at intake and a strong emphasis on producing clean, expressive coffees. The result is a cup profile that typically shows vibrant tropical fruit notes, structured sweetness, and clarity.
