Every year, NOMAD eagerly anticipates the arrival of Aquiares coffees from Costa Rica. Their flagship, Entre Rios, is a true gem. It boasts a round, balanced, and velvety body, with aromatic notes of orange and dates. Sweet with chocolate and caramel undertones, it leaves a lingering, slightly fruity aftertaste of cherry.

Aquiares, owned by Diego Robelo and his family, is nestled on the slopes of the majestic Turrialba volcano at an elevation of 1,400 meters above sea level. It stands as the largest single-block coffee plantation in Costa Rica, spanning vast expanses of land. The farm is crisscrossed by intricate waterways that connect the two major rivers, the Turrialba and the Aquiares, creating a picturesque and serene natural setting.

Hundreds of years ago, this land was home to a small pre-Columbian community, and traces of their presence can still be discovered today. This collaboration between NOMAD and Aquiares has been a testament to their enduring partnership, spanning nine consecutive years and eight direct dealings.

NOMAD negotiates the price directly with Diego, ensuring that the commission remains with the farm. Additionally, they handle the import process themselves, chartering the container directly from Costa Rica to Barcelona, showcasing their commitment to direct trade and transparency.
