La Cabra
A natural-processed community lot from smallholder garden farmers around Shantawene in Bensa, Sidama, with notes of blackberry, cherry and brown sugar.
Shantawene
Shantawene village lies between Bombe and Bombe Mountain in Ethiopia’s Bensa district, Sidama. Local smallholder “garden farmers” grow coffee on small plots around their homes, often alongside wild coffee trees.
At 2,000–2,200 masl, coffee grows slowly in fertile clay soils beneath native shade trees. The cherries are hand-picked at full ripeness between October and December, then naturally processed on raised African drying beds and carefully sorted.
This lot consists of Ethiopian heirloom varieties 74/110 and 74/112. Expect layered dark berries and citrus, balanced by a sweet brown sugar finish.
All La Cabra coffees are roasted for both filter and espresso.
